& Student Exhibition
Tri-State Annual Event. We invite your school to participate next year (2025 Date TBA) at the Roland Dille Center for the Arts, MSUM campus.
Art-A-Fair Event(s) Information
Welcome to MSUM, the region's University for the Arts, and our signature annual tri-state High School outreach event, where we welcome 25 schools, 250 pieces of art, and 300+ art students with their teachers on Friday, Feb. 2nd. We are excited to be holding our Workshop Day and Exhibition events on campus at the Roland Dille Center for the Arts. We look forward to jurying your student's art, working with your students in our hands-on workshops, and awarding over $1,000 in cash directly to students while also awarding top school exhibitions for each state.
Workshop Day
Friday, (2025 TBA)
The region's largest high school visual art event features over 25 dynamic hands-on and classroom sessions for students to choose from and participate in. $50 Fee for schools to bring up to 10 high school students, Grades 10-12. Teacher PD sessions are also provided.

H.S. Art Exhibition and Competition
Student artwork featured in a professional gallery space on a University campus. H.S. Art teachers work with their students to get work registered and delivered. Awards are given for best in each of 8 media categories, Best in Show, and top state school exhibits. $1,000 in awards granted, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Fargo. $50 fee for up to 8 works entered. The exhibition runs in the Roland Dille Center for the Arts Gallery and on our online Gallery Website at:

Teacher PD Sessions
Like the student sessions, we hold a variety of teacher PD sessions for our attending teachers annually. Teachers in attendance may obtain free CEU's or register for 1 graduate credit ($100) for participation with an accompanying individually designed project.

A career educator recognized for preparing undergraduate teaching candidates from MSUM through observations, practicum placements, and student teaching. This educator has shown a distinction in leadership and community activity as well as an on-going collaboration with the School of Teaching and Learning and the School of Art at MSUM. Professor and ceramic artist, Brad Bachmeier demonstrates the ancient Japanese technique of Kuri Nuki, which simply means "to carve out" This simple technique starts with a block of clay and utilizes the natural qualities of earth for humble and beautiful effects.
